Eating Halal in Split

Halal food in Split, Croatia

Split, a town on Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast, is known for its beautiful beaches and its 4th century Diocletian's Palace. Always buzzing, this exuberant city has just the right balance between tradition and modernity.

The city was originally built around the Diocletian palace which was a fort for the retired Roman emperor Diocletian. The locals sought refuge centuries ago and was once home to thousands. Its sprawling remains include more than 200 buildings. Within its white stone walls and under its courtyards are a cathedral and numerous shops, bars, cafes, hotels and houses.

Despite initial appearances, this city is much more than just a small tourist town as it covers a large area beyond its ancient heart.  extends over a large area well beyond the ancient core.

Split has a perfect blend of ancient and modern culture with so much the city has to offer. From the Cathedral of st. Dominus to the ruins of the ancient city of Salona situated at the foot of the mountains. Even just wandering the historic center of Split where you can still clearly see the Roman walls, squares, and temples shows just some of the history that went on there.

The food here is spectacular and largely based around its fresh seafood with a lot of their dishes very Italian influenced. It is very nice to see that in a world suffocating under the weight of processed foods, Croatia's coastal cuisine is unique in that most of its produce is fresh and organic.

We make sure that you are able to enjoy all the great food that this city has to offer while still sticking your halal diet with ease. With you don't have to spend any time worrying about finding menus that cater to your needs and can spend more time enjoying your trip to the fullest.
